I'm a big fan of arts education.
So you can imagine how pleased I was to see such a
beautiful blank canvas for kids who'd otherwise have nowhere to safely
write their
names.
I hear some of them skate there too on occasion. Chris sure likes it.
Figures.
War is hell. Especially against
those gods-damned Street Cylons. It's even worse when
your nephew is
one of them. That's why whenever we get some R&R from the Colonial
Fleet, we like to spend it at Skatelab
in Simi Valley.
Now that's more like it! That nephew of yours sure can fly! That's how
you sell
skateboards. I can see the little skate rats lined up around the block
to buy our
product. Long live Streetskater Chris!

In this episode we head out to
Ayala Park in Chino. Being saddled with this kid reminds
me of the upheaval that the Cohen family of Newport Beach went through
when they
took in a young miscreant from Chino. Hmmm...
In this second episode I go to
the Volcom Skatepark in Costa Mesa. My
sponsors want
me to give better coverage to streetskating, since that’s where all the
money is. Lots of
integrity, those guys. So just to show them who’s boss, I’m bringing on
my nephew,
Streetskater Chris. Ain’t his picture cute?
I'm Lanny Birch and welcome to my
Skatepark Blog. When I moved to Southern
California, I rediscovered skateboarding thanks to the large number of
skateparks. In
this blog I'll be showing you some of my favorites, as well as finding
some new ones
along the way. Enjoy!
“Lanny Birch’s Skatepark Blog” is a
video blog chronicling
Lanny Birch’s adventures in his favorite skateparks in Southern
California along with his long-lost, infinitely annoying nephew,
Streetskater Chris.
